Working Class Bursary

The West End Comedy Club's Working Class Bursary Showcase isn't a pity party of sob stories from low quality performers, it's five stellar comedians who just happen to be working class.

The West End Comedy Club recognises that one of the largest barriers to entry in standup comedy remains coming from a working class background. Therefore we launched this bursary in 2023 to support working class performers taking their first full-length solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (in association with Sian Davies' Best in Class). The winner will receive £500, and four other finalists will receive £100 and future paid spots at the West End Comedy Club.
